about me

I like to tell people that I was planted in southwestern Pennsylvania and sprouted in Ohio's Cuyahoga Valley, where I grew up and am currently based. I have a bachelor's degree in journalism from Ohio State University, where I also majored in political science with a specialization in inequality and justice. This fall, I will begin pursuing an MFA in Literary Reportage at New York University.

While writing is my primary craft, I am also a photographer, amateur data explorer, and, as a friend and former colleague once described me, a "public records maven." Friends and Columbus writers also know me as a poet. I'm currently most eager to hone my audio reporting and production skills.
